Chrysoprase deposits are mainly found in Germany, Australia, the United States, and Madagascar.
The word Chrysoprase is derived from two ancient Greek words: "chrysos," meaning "gold," and "prason," meaning "green." Thus, "Chrysoprase" can be literally translated as "golden green" or "gold-like green."
