Belzebiche

Émilie · Belzebiche / Biche

Belzebiche, Biche… and once Robert too.

A tattoo artist for 15 years, Émilie always wanted to draw, even though tattooing wasn't an obvious career path when she started. It was while talking with her first tattoo artist that she realized this profession could become a reality, and decided to go for it.

It took her three years to find her first apprenticeship. Once she got it, she worked in several shops, did numerous conventions and guest spots to learn from many artists, and worked all over Europe.

In 2020, she settled in Lille at Kawaii Place, first as a monthly guest, then as a resident 💖

She remembers her very first tattoo clearly: a simple black letter, which transformed into a colorful rose during the session. At the time, she didn't yet know how to assert herself—today it's the only tattoo she regrets having accepted 😅

Her work revolves around two distinct styles:

Belzebiche — a very colorful, intentionally intense pop culture style, which can also be done in black and grey.

Biche — color micro-realism, with a particular fondness for floral and animal motifs.

Her inspirations are diverse and varied, from Jeff Gogue to Ivana, and Kelly Doty, but it's especially the graphic spirit of Boucherie Moderne or Yann Black that deeply influenced her. Their freedom and ability to break conventions have, according to her, largely contributed to the diversity of contemporary tattooing.

Very hands-on, Émilie has a multitude of creative activities, but knitting now takes up a large part of her time. She didn't choose the thug life, it chose her!

She does not tattoo the neck or the inside of the lips. As for designs, as long as she is technically capable of doing them, she has no reason to refuse, with the exception of anything that could be hateful.

In her Biche style, she particularly enjoys tattooing birds, even if she doesn't get asked for them very often. In her Belzebiche universe, she especially likes tattooing secondary characters.
