What is it?
Chrysoprase is a translucent variety of quartz with a green color, which can range from apple green to emerald green. Chrysoprase deposits are mainly found in Germany, Australia, the United States, and Madagascar.
The word chrysoprase is derived from two ancient Greek words: "chrysos", meaning "gold", and "prason", meaning "green". Thus, "Chrysoprase" could be literally translated as "golden green" or "gold-like green".
