Some info about the Smiley piercing
The Smiley is a piercing done on the labial frenulum located in the center under your upper gum:

It's a thin membrane, so you have to be careful about the weight of the jewelry you put in it. It may not seem like much in your hand, but in the medium/long term, jewelry that is too heavy can cause a tear in the frenulum.
Don't panic, it's not very serious, but once it's torn, you won't be able to get a piercing there anymore.
We all have different anatomies; some people cannot get a smiley piercing, for example, if the frenulum is too short or poorly positioned. The easiest way is to come to the shop whenever you want to get a check-up before making an appointment.
It is a very discreet piercing, which is only supposed to be seen when you smile (hence the name, good job Sherlock), but as with any oral piercing:
Beware of your teeth!
The choice of jewelry is really essential for the piercing to hold well and for it to have no impact on your teeth or gums on a daily basis. We strongly advise against putting gold jewelry in this location as it can cause an unpleasant taste in the mouth; we recommend high-quality titanium jewelry.
Contrary to popular belief, it is a very minimally painful piercing with easy and simple healing.
However, you should avoid oral/genital contact for 1 month after the piercing, as well as alcohol, drug, or tobacco consumption, ideally. No specific care is needed other than brushing after each meal for the first few weeks.
