The Snake Eyes: A very bad idea!
We are regularly asked if we make Snake Eyes: the answer is no and we will explain why, because we are nice as well as being educational!
This piercing is located at the tip of the tongue and crosses the tip widthwise. If you can't see clearly there is a photo just below
Snake eyes are not recommended for several reasons, the most obvious of which is... that it destroys your teeth and gums! It's not very surprising but you have to be aware that it's not going to happen overnight, it's over the months and years that the enamel of your teeth will crack/fall apart. and your gums will shrink. And by then, it will be too late to turn back.
The classic tongue piercing causes much less damage with suitable jewelry and if you don't play with it, for example.
Another very important point, the tongue is made up (among other things) of two muscles independent in length. By piercing the horizontal of these two muscles and “connecting” them with jewelry, this can have major consequences on the mobility and functioning of the tongue.
Last point, this type of piercing is often made with a Teflon jewel for the size and flexibility that the location requires. And what is Teflon? Plastic that cannot be implanted in the skin
When it is carried out on the tip of the tongue, there is also a risk of rejection or even tearing.
We therefore strongly advise against this piercing, it is not worth the risks involved ;)
Usual Ps: It’s still not because your great uncle Jean Michel’s cousin did it and it goes “very well” that it’s recommended.
