Tattoos on the inside of the lips: what you need to know!

We get a lot of requests for this type of tattoo, so here's some information you need to know before you take the plunge!

It's hard to get more discreet than this tattoo, but unfortunately we'll have to add a little caveat along the way.

At the shop, we agree to tattoo this location provided you choose a very simple and not very detailed design, and avoid words with more than 4/5 letters. It's the same for any location and we can't say it enough: details = large size, small size = simplicity!

As for healing, you should also avoid excessive mouthwash, rounds of shots that same evening, and nicotine. Treat your new tattoo like a wound: don't scratch it, roll it in the mud, or fiddle with it with your dirty hands to show it to your friends.

And here is the main problem with this tattoo: aging!

As with fingers, you shouldn't expect perfect results in 50 years . If you're willing to accept that a tattoo will change and evolve over time, then no worries, go for it!

But you should be aware that a tattoo inside the lips does not hold very well in the medium/short term , it is a mucous membrane and not skin so the result will be much less clear from the start, you should expect it. If it heals much faster than a pattern on the skin, the tattoo inside the lip unfortunately tends to fade and disappear over time.

It remains a very nice location in terms of discretion, but we will forget the photo-realistic portrait of granny. 😉

If you've weighed the pros and cons and are ready to take the plunge, we're waiting for you in the shop!

The tattoo below was done by our tattoo artist belzebiche who you can find on Instagram right here: https://www.instagram.com/belzebiche/?hl=fr
